Importance of Browser Compatibility

When creating web design pages, you want to make sure you design the site to work on all types of different browsers. A browser is what gives people the ability to connect to the internet. For instance, the most common browsers include Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape, and Opera, although there are many others to consider. With all types of websites to include ecommerce, you need to understand that some browsers are good and others not so good. This means the way in which pages display will vary. Well, for people who create web design, the different browser versions can be challenging.

As you go through the process of developing a website, you want to consider that not all of your potential customers will be working off the same browser. Therefore, while you might have a favorite, you want your coding to cover as many browsers as possible, which means reaching a much broader audience. One of the best ways to accomplish this is by having a DocType within your web pages. Then, for the language, you would choose from HTML or XHTML. While versions 1.0 and 4.0 in both instances, you would discover that XHTML 1.1 is the type of code most commonly used. The key is making your website so it reaches as many people as possible, thus improving your chance of reaching great success. Remember, all of these steps are forms of internet marketing, getting word out and reaching new customers.
